One class covers your certification whether you're enrolling at Hillendell or just need it renewed for work.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association is one of the four required documents for every Hillendell CNA student — alongside ID, Social Security card, and TB clearance.
Hillendell runs its own BLS/CPR classes at both campuses, so you can knock this requirement out without going anywhere else. And you don't need to be a Hillendell student to attend — these classes are open to the public, whether you need certification for a job, a renewal, or any other reason.
Incoming and current Hillendell students who need to submit CPR/BLS as a required document, plus anyone in the public who needs BLS certification for work or renewal.
A single in-person class covering hands-on CPR and basic life support skills, taught to the American Heart Association standard.
Scrubs are recommended but not required. Wear clean, modest, comfortable clothing that allows you to kneel, bend, and practice hands-on skills. Sleepwear, loungewear, and clothing that interferes with performing CPR skills aren't permitted.
Missing class or not notifying Hillendell at least 24 hours in advance incurs a $10 rescheduling fee.
